Mrs. Alice Lavon Walters Byrd, 78, of Fairmont, NC, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. She was born in Robeson County, NC on February 13, 1944, to the late Linwood E. Walters and the late Vera Walters.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allen Byrd, and her grandson, Knox McKee.

She is survived her daughters, Pam Simmons (Ronald) of Fairmont, NC and Cristy McKee (Key) of Lumberton, NC; three grandchildren: Ronnie Simmons, Michael Simmons, and Nikki Phillips; a great-grandson, Jayden Phillips; her brother, Tommy Walters (Audrey) of Lumberton, NC; her sister, Beth Callahan (Wayne) of Fairmont, NC; and her nieces and nephews: Janet Lane, Tim Callahan, Jamie Walters, and Travis Walters.
