Mrs. Alene S. Lamb, age 85, of Lumberton, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was born in Columbus County, NC on Januay 2, 1929 to the late Mayo Simmons and the late Ora Long Simmons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Palmer Ray "P.R." Lamb and her granddaughter, Kimberly Sealey. Mrs. Lamb is survived by three daughters, Gloria Wilcox and husband, John of Lumberton, Brenda Johnson and husband, Mike of Hope Mills, NC, and Pam Rogers and husband, Danny of Pineville, NC; one brother, Jimmy Simmons of Lumberton; two sisters, Doralyn Stone of Gastonia, NC and Carolyn Phillips of Lumberton; two grandchildren, Paul Rogers and Jordan Rogers. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 11:00AM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Johnny Bruce officiating. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.
