Albert W. Smith, 82 of Lumberton went to be with the Lord Saturday March 24, 2018.

Mr. Smith was born in Robeson County, a son of the late Andrew Jesse and Levada Owens Smith. He was retired from South of the Border after 20 years of employment and previously employed by T. R. Driscoll Roofing for 32 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Curtis, Clayton and Joseph Smith; and 3 sisters, Clementine Martin, Ernestine McLaurin and Swannie Durden. Mr. Smith was a member of West Lumberton Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred Smith of the home; 5 sons, Timothy Smith, Andy Smith, Albert R. Smith, Jeff Davis all of Lumberton and Timmy Ray Davis of North Myrtle Beach, SC; 3 daughters, Gloria Wiggins, Gretchen Bass both of Lumberton and Tammy Doyle of Castle Hayne;  two brothers, Fred Smith of Morganton, Jesse Smith of Raeford; 3 sisters, Agnes Chautin of New Orleans LA, Gladys Martinez of Parkton, Mary Ikyasang of Fayetteville; 10 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, and 2 special friends, Sprunt Floyd and Daniel Brooks.

There will be a time of visitation prior to the service Tuesday March 27, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at West Lumberton Baptist Church. The family will also receive friends at the home.

Following the visitation a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM , with Rev. Rick Foremen and Rev. John Helmke officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
