Alan Edward Miller of Lumberton departed this life Friday, January 16, 2015 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. He was 65 years old. There will be a time of visitation Friday, January 23, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton. Mr. Miller was born February 19, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Leonard and Beatrice Miller. He spent his career as a videographer capturing life's special moments and recording memories for the community. He was a member of St. Alban's Lodge of AF & AM, #114, in Lumberton. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents. To cherish his memory he leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Dorothy Miller; a son, Derek Miller and wife Heather and a daughter, Meghan Elizabeth Miller, all of Lumberton; a brother, Sigmond Miller of New Jersey; two sisters, Pamela Miller and Donna Baker, both of California; two grandchildren, Gavin and Liam, as well as a host of loved ones, neighbors, and friends. In accordance with Mr. Miller's religious beliefs, the family requests that no flowers be sent. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Special Olympics of Robeson County at P.O. Drawer 2909, Lumberton, NC 28358.
