Mrs. Betty Lou Lindsey Blackmon, 60, wife of the late Larry Alton Blackmon, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Southeastern Health of Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County on January 5, 1953 to the late Boyd Lindsey and the late Janie Britt Lindsey.

Along with her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clarence and Goldie Britt; her paternal grandparents, William and Elizabeth Lindsey; her step-son, Ronald Earl Blackmon; five brothers, Maurice “Spunk” Jolly, Carl Lindsey, Henry Lindsey, Fred Lindsey, and Ed Lindsey; and two sisters, Sue Cummings an Shirley Britt.

She is survived by one son, Larry Wayne Carter, of Fairmont; three daughters, Christie Lynn Carter, Renee McLamb, and Angie Blackmon, all of Lumberton; two brothers, Wayne Lindsey, of Lumberton, and Will Lindsey, of Raynham; four sisters, Brenda Miller and husband, Joe, of Red Springs, Pat Hilliard and husband, Doc, of Gloucester Point, VA, Cathey Miller and husband, Horace, of Fairmont, and Deborah Caulder, of Lumberton; twenty-one grandchildren, including special granddaughters, Nayeli and Kelsey Moctezuma; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
